The human life shall be a composition of the Physical health, Mental health, Social health and Spiritual health. The yoga for modern age is a powerful medium to make the four aspects of health served and administered to one and all without social or any other type of discrimination. In the grand program of serving this food to the social well being our institution is coming out in different modules with cognitive, discriminatory, analytical and interpretative levels.

A systematic and clearly defined practical training will be given to the student with

  • Simplified Physical Exercises to improve physical health.
  • Kaya Kalpa Exercises to rejuvenate the life force and retard the ageing process.
  • Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY) meditation to keep the mind in peace, creativity, perspicacity, adaptability, magnanimity and receptivity.
  • Introspection to analyze the thoughts, moralize the desires, neutralize the anger and eradicate the worries.
  • Understanding the science of Divinity and Meditation to realize the self and finally the Truth.

Objective:

  • This paper aims to acquaint the students with the human values.
  • It also provides practical training to improve physical health, mental health, social health and spiritual health, which is the motto of the “World Health Organization” (WHO).
  • Empowerment of women to live in harmony with society and nature.
Certificate in Yoga for Human Excellence as Spiritual education

The course strives to achieve the following:

  • The course has three major components of (1) Simplified Physical and Yoga exercises, (2) Meditation practices and (3) Introspection which deal with the development of Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual health of the students formulated by WCSC-VISION for Wisdom.
  • To train and develop the physical body for leading a healthy life.
  • To rejuvenate the life energy, to retard the ageing process and to achieve spiritual development.
  • To offer meditation practices to strengthen the mind, increase its will power, concentration, creativity and receptivity and ultimately to transform the mind to achieve self-realization.
  • To practice introspection techniques to purify the mind.
  • To help every individual to realize the enduring values of peace, non-violence and harmony to revitalize human society for restoring its sanity and strength.

Eligibility:

  • The Candidates those who have passed 8th Std and above or its equivalent Examination.
  • Functional Knowledge in English Language (Read, Write & Speak). Computer Operational skill with Internet.

Medium of Instruction:

  • The medium of Instruction is in English / Tamil and Examination for all the papers shall be in English / Tamil.

Course Duration:

  • The course shall spread over a period of 5 months. The candidates admitted to this course shall attend 40 hours of practical and theory in face to face spread over in 5 months to complete the course.

Subjects:

  • 3 Papers (Physical Health and Rejuvenation of Life-Force, Mental and Social Health, Yoga Practices)

Time schedule for Practical:

  • The practical and theory classes shall be conducted only by the faculty members of VISION for Wisdom at the respective Institution / University centres.
  • Once in a month internal examination (Total 4) shall be conducted as a continuous internal assessment.

The courses strive to achieve the following

Procedure

Admission:

  • The students studying formal education can additionally study Diploma in Yoga for Human Excellence.

Conduct of Course

  • The course shall spread over a period of 10 months comprising of Annual Pattern. The course consists of 60 hours of Practical and Theory classes in face to face.
  • The practical shall be conducted only by the faculty members of VISION for Wisdom at the respective Centre / University centre.
  • The course materials of CD with e-content format or Printed book in modular format (Text, Vethathiri Maharishi audio / video, and Professores speeches with Quizzes) will be supplied to each of the students.
  • The printed book format will be priced and shall be charged to the students separately if needed.
  • All E-contents of the courses will also be uploaded in the website of VISION for Wisdom (www.online.vethathiri.edu.in) The students can access the materials directly from the websites and learn them at their own convenient time.
  • Once in 2 months test shall be conducted as a continuous internal assessment.
  • Model examination will be conducted prior to final examination. It is compulsory programme.

Study Materials:

  • The course materials will be supplied in the CD (Compact Disc) or any such device to each student. The course materials of Cd with e-book format consist of Text, Vethathiri Maharishi’s speches (audio/video), SKY Professor’s speeches and Quizzes.
  • The e-contents of the course will also available in the website of VISION for Wisdom (www.lms.vethathiri.edu.in)
  • The students can access the reference materials directly from the website and learn them at their own convenient time by using the internet as well as their CDs. The course materials are in print friendly format.

Time Schedule for Practical:

  • Yoga practical shall be conducted at the respective educational institutions or nearby VISION centre for 20 hours for Certificate course and at the educational institution for 40 hours for Diploma course. SKY Masters shall train the students in yoga.

Examination

  • Two internal tests and one model test will be conducted during the course.
  • Examination fee has to be paid separately by the student.
  • Final examinations shall be conducted at the end of the academic year by the University.
  • University examinations shall be conducted (tentatively) at the 1st fortnight of July.

Requirement to appear for the examinations

  • A candidate will be eligible to appear for the University Examination only when he / she completes the practical training with not less than 90 per cent of attendance.

Medium of Instruction and examinations

  • The medium of Instruction and Examination for all the papers shall be in English and Tamil language.

Evaluation

  • Qualified teachers of VISION approved by the University shall set the question papers and evaluate the answers of the Final examinations.

Passing Requirements

  • A candidate should secure a minimum of 50% of the marks individually in Final Examination and 50% in Continuous Internal Examination (CIA) for a pass in each subject.

Classification of Successful Candidates:

  • As per SRM University norms.

Conferment of the Diploma

  • Diploma shall be awarded by _______ University. No candidate shall be eligible for conferment of the Diploma unless he / she has undergone the prescribed course of study for a period of not less than ten months in an institution approved by the _______ University.

Course Design

  • The syllabus for various subjects shall be clearly distributed into five viable units in each paper / subject. Further every subject should have e-text books and books for reference, spelt out clearly.

The courses design shall have the following:

Physical Health:

Enhancement of Physical health by developing a positive attitude towards health. Cultivation of right habits about food, exercise and sleep amongst students. Students shall learn appropriate asanas and movement of limbs to enhance neuro-muscular co-ordination and avoid postural defects and physical deformities. Prevention of diseases through enhancement of immunity power. Awareness about physical health and hygiene is improved among students.

Mental Health:

The significance of Thoughts as the sculptor of an individual is inculcated in students. Students shall be imparted the art of self-control / restraint, concentration, enhancing the memory power and achieving a calm mental state through meditation. Creative capabilities and Will power are improved.

Social Health:

Students are trained to be responsible for healthy living at home, school and in the community. Students are guided in evolving as a responsible Adult. Harmonious relationship with others is ensured. Students become more responsible citizens. Overall personality development of a student as a responsible citizen – catering to the needs of the self, family, society at a large and Country as a whole. Maintenance of clean environment in home, school and community is emphasized.

Spiritual Health:

Holistic approach to life becomes easy. Self-confidence is enhanced. Knowledge about discipline is improved to the level of perfection with an understanding of the unfailing principle of cause and effect system – Karma Yoga – the ultimate law of Nature.
